Axis Banka and TCS defeated Odisha Veteran and Nalco by six and three wickets respectively in the league round match of the Heads of Department (HoD) Cup Cricket Tournament at Kalinga Stadium on Sunday.
Batting first, Odisha Veteran scored 129 runs in 20 overs for the loss of five wickets. In reply, Partha Sarathi Pattnaik of Axis Bank smashed an unbeaten 83 runs in 46 balls and powered the team to reach the winning target in 15 overs for the loss of four wickets. Partha of the winning team bagged the man of the match award.
In another match, winning the toss Nalco elected to bat first and scored 173 runs in 20 overs for the loss of seven wickets. Sachitananda Biswal and HK Nath scored 61 and 38 runs respectively. Partha Pani of TCS scalped three wickets. In reply, Partha Pani and Ashutosh Dash of the TCS contributed 56 and 62 runs respectively and team reached the victory target in 20 overs by losing seven wickets.
For the all-round performance Partha Pani received the man of the match award.
