The World Mental Health Day was observed by the Zilla Swasthay Samiti here on Saturday.
The programme with a theme on ‘living with Dignity’ was organised under the leadership of CDMO Dr NM Jena. ADMO Dr PK Patro joined the function as the chief speaker and ANMTC Principal Kusum as guest of honour.
Students of the ANMTC, Gajapati Nursing College, Gajapati College of Pharmacy and Women Degree College participated in an awareness campaign that began from the CDMO office and covered the entire town sensitizing people on how to treat with mentally-disabled people.
Dr Jena said, “Though we do not have new doctors for the mentally-disabled persons, but we have trained our existing doctors to provide treatment to such patients.”
