The choice of Odisha for the Prime Minister’s award as the best State in the country in skill development of rural youths for a second consecutive time has come as an embarrassment for the BJP, especially Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who is in charge of the Skill Development portfolio.
Odisha which would be honoured with the award at a time when Pradhan and other BJP leaders have been attacking the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD Government as “a burnt transformer” (not able to supply electricity) since it has allegedly failed to ensure welfare for people.
Moreover, Pradhan had addressed a meeting on skill development in Bhubaneswar only two days back and stated that the Central Government is determined to scale up skill growth in the State which lags behind in this sector.
