A four-year-old girl was raped by an auto-rickshaw driver in Koraput town on Friday. On a complaint lodged by the girl’s family on Saturday, police registered a case and arrested the accused.
The accused Sharat Pidika (19) of Puruna Koraput used to ferry the victim and other children in his auto-rickshaw from their homes to school every day. On the fateful day, Sharat dropped all the children except the victim at their houses.
Sharat parked the vehicle at a lonely place and raped her and then dropped her at her house.
In the evening, when the girl complained of pain in her lower abdomen, family members inquired about the matter. The girl narrated the incident, following the police case was filed.
