A man was allegedly hacked to death by his wife and brother-in-law at Patadhar village under the Jagannathprasad police station in Ganjam district on Wednesday night over his suspected extramarital affair.

Reports said the deceased Tulu Pradhan, who was employed as an auto-rickshaw driver in Bhubaneswar, had come to his in-laws’ house at Patadhar in the evening. A heated altercation took place between Tulu and his wife, who was suspecting him of having an extramarital affair with a woman in Bhubaneswar.

Moments later, the woman’s brother intervened in the incident. The matter turned violent as the brother-sister duo hacked Tulu to death with a sharp weapon. The accused also severed some of the body parts of the deceased and packed those in a sack, reports said. The two surrendered before police on Thursday and were being interrogated.  The body was recovered by cops and sent for post-mortem.
