A day after two mediapersons were attacked while covering the BJP Padayatra in Nayagarh town, police on Friday arrested two BJP workers in connection with the incident.
The accused are Deepak Dalabehera and Badal Pradhan, both local residents.
According to an FIR lodged, two mediapersons of a news channel had been covering the Padayatra at Jadupur village over the Pari murder case when the accused along with others abused them in filthy language and brutally assaulted them.
They also ransacked their cameras and threatened them of dire consequences.The accused have been booked under Sections 341, 323, 294, 336, 427, 307, 120(B), 379, 506 and 34 of Indian Penal Code (IPC). “Medical examination of both the accused have been done.
We produced them before court later on the day,” said police sources.
