Police on Monday arrested a man from Hyderabad in connection with the bombing on the residence of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) secretary Asirbad Behera at his Madhusudan Nagar house here last month.
Accused Sheikh Sunil would be brought to Odisha on transit remand, Twin City Commissioner of Police Dr RP Sharma told reporters here.
Sunil is among the three miscreants who had hurled high-intensity crackers at Behera’s residence, hardly a stone’s throw away from Cantonment police station, here on August 28. Sunil was on the run since the incident.
Examination of footage from CCTV cameras revealed that three motorcycle-borne criminals had lobbed three lombs at Behera’s residence. Five accused had been arrested earlier.
Police suspected the attack could have been carried out with an intention to extort money from people.
