An Axis Bank ATM located near a temple under the Thelkuli police station here was allegedly set on fire by unidentified miscreants on Friday night.
It is suspected that the miscreants set the ATM on fire after failing to break open the machine and loot cash from it at late night. Surprisingly, the ATM kiosk was located only at a stone’s throw distance from the police station.
The amount of cash kept in the cash machine was yet to be ascertained. Though no complaint was lodged with police on behalf of the bank till last reports came in, the cops had begun an inquiry suo motto and were conducting raids to nab the hooligans.
