AT link: CBI may grill young Minister soon

The CBI has trickily opened the Pandora’s Box of Artha Tatwa (AT) Group by arresting the company’s co-founder Ranjan Das who has been giving all the clues about several influential persons having link with the chit fund company. The CBI is also preparing to grill a young Minister of the State.

Reliable sources said, the CBI has summoned up the Minister for interrogation pertaining to his alleged link with the AT Group. But due to some procedural delay, the quizzing would take time, said sources.

On Wednesday night, the CBI had interrogated Rajya Sabha MP and BJD leader Kalpataru Das’s MlA son Pranab Balabantaray in connection with a land deal with the chit fund company.

The interrogation continued for more than one and a half hours. Balabantaray was grilled on his purchase of the Jayadev Vihar plot, which the CBI suspects was bought with money paid by the AT Group, the sources said.

“The CBI had asked for the documents pertaining to a piece of land I had purchased in Jayadev Vihar and I handed it over to the CBI,” Balabantaray said.

The Central investigating agency on Thursday resumed its interrogation process and grilled Odia newspaper ‘The Odisha Bhaskar’ owner Madhu Mohanty for his alleged link with the company. The Central agency took around three hours to complete the interrogation process.

After interrogation, Mohanty told mediapersons outside the CBI office here that he kept his view before the probing agency.

After a few hours gap, the CBI again summoned Mohanty in the afternoon to face the interrogation process with valid documents. Sources said the probe agency has information that Mohanty had taken loans from the AT Group.

later on the day the CBI again quizzed TV news channel owner Manoj Das, who was interrogated by the agency on Wednesday. The CBI also interrogated OCA employees and some bank officials in this issue.
