The CBI on Tuesday interrogated one Ashok Kumar Senapati, manager of a city-based computer centre, Zee Institute of Creative Arts (ZICA), in connection with the chit fund scam.
Notably, the computer institute was run by former Crime Branch DSP Pramod Panda’s wife Gitanjali. The institute, which was offering courses in animation and computer graphics, had allegedly received money from some chit fund operators. The Central investigating agency wanted to know whether the institute had helped in diverting money or not, sources said.
While interrogating DSP Panda before arresting him on Friday last, the CBI had found some leads about diversion of Artha Tatwa (AT) Group funds to an account of a computer centre in the city run by Panda’s close relative. later, the CBI suspected the ZICA and summoned its manager in connection with the AT Group.
