The CBI on Wednesday interrogated former Crime Branch DSP Pramod Panda in connection with the Artha Tatwa (AT) Group. The investigating agency also quizzed AT Group former director Jagabandhu Panda.
The CBI had summoned Pramod Panda on Tuesday after his anticipatory bail plea was rejected by the High Court on Monday.Panda, who is now a DSP in the Nayagarh DIB section, entered the CBI office by a bike wearing a helmet to avoid media glare and left the CBI office hurriedly after interrogation.
The CBI grilled the DSP face to face with Jagabandhu Panda, who is his relative and who is already on a nine-day CBI remand.Sources said the CBI asked the duo about diversion of the AT Group funds to an account of a computer centre in the city run by a close aide of Pramod. The investigating officials also wanted to know from Jagabandhu how he had diverted money to the account of the DSP’s another relative, who runs a computer appliances store in Bhadrak.The CBI had conducted raid on the DSP’s residence in Bhadrak on November 18.
