AT link: CBI grills ex-CB DSP again

Published on:
The CBI, which had grilled former Crime Branch DSP Pramod Panda on Wednesday, interrogated him again on Thursday to get more leads into his alleged link with the chit fund firm Artha Tatwa (AT) Group.

Panda, who is now a DSP in the Nayagarh DIB section, was quizzed by the CBI for nearly an hour. Sources said the CBI asked him about diversion of the AT Group fund to an account of a computer centre in the city run by a close aide of Panda. A computer institute, named Zee Institute of Creative Arts (ZICA), run by Panda’s wife Gitanjali is also under scanner. The institute offering courses in animation and computer graphics allegedly received money from some chit fund operators, sources said.

Besides Panda’s alleged involvement with some chit fund operators, he is facing a charge of criminal intimidation slapped on him by Alok Jena, whose petition in the Supreme Court led to the ongoing CBI probe into the mega scam.
