The Higher Education Department on Wednesday published the first cut-off marks list for admission into different streams of Plus II course in various junior colleges across the State. The BJB Junior College, Bhubaneswar and the Ravenshaw Junior College, Cuttack stood top in the list for Science stream recording 90.83 per cent followed by Basic Science College, Bhubaneswar and the RD Women’s College, Bhubaneswar at 87.67 per cent and 84.67 per cent marks, respectively.
Similarly, in Commerce, the cut-off mark for the BJB was recorded at 79.83 per cent while for the Ravenshaw it was registered at 67.33 per cent.For Arts stream, the BJB posted the highest cut-off mark at 70.50 per cent followed by the Ravenshaw at 69.5 per cent.There are around 1,512 Plus II colleges in the State with a total capacity of 4,41,220 seats. In the current session, more than 4,50,000 students have passed the matriculation examination though only 3,82,593 have applied for Plus II admissions. The admission process would be conducted from July 4 to 8 on the basis of the first selection list.
