In yet another ex-parte ad-interim order, a special court here on Wednesday directed the State Government to sell through public auction the attached properties of the chit fund company, Astha International, and distribute the remittance among the investors in the company equitably.
The designated ADJ Court exclusively dealing with matters pertaining to chit fund companies had earlier also made similar directions in cases connected with Rose Valley Group of Companies and Safex Infra India ltd.
According to Special Public Prosecutor Subrat Mohanty, the court asked the Government to confiscate the attached properties of Astha International and distribute the sale proceeds among the investors.
It was learnt that the Crime Branch has attached both movable and immovable properties of the company worth nearly Rs 7 crore.
The properties include a double-storied building at Bapuji Nagar in Bhubaneswar estimated about Rs 1.20 crore, landed properties both in Odisha and West Bengal, a car worth Rs 38 lakh and bank deposits of nearly Rs 50,000.
