The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached assets worth Rs 1.88 crore of Lingaraj Jena, a former Safei Mohareer (cleaning assistant) posted in the office of Additional Sub-Collector (Settlement) in Puri district.
Earlier, the Vigilance police had lodged a case against Jena for accumulating assets disproportionate assets compared to his known sources of income.
Later, the ED had carried out a probe against Jena under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and submitted a charge-sheet in the court of Special Judge Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.
During the probe, ED ascertained that Jena had acquired movable and immovable assets worth Rs 1.88 crore with the ill-gotten money.
