A Protocol Committee of the State Assembly has been formed for the first time on the lines of committees formed by the lok Sabha to review the attitude of bureaucrats in the State towards people’s elected representatives.
BJD MlA Nrusingha Sahu has been made chairman of the committee, which has six other members, Debashis Samantaray (BJD), Bibhutibhushan Harichandan (BJP), Prafulla Majhi (Congress), Mayadhar Jena (BJD), Bijay Mohanty (BJD) and Manohar Randhari (BJD).
Notably, Assembly Speaker Niranjan Pujari had directed the House to form such a committee during the last Assembly session while responding to members’ allegations that bureaucrats, from district Collector to Secretary level, are not paying due respect to them.
