The State Assembly on Friday passed the Xavier University Bill-2013. As per the Bill, 50 per cent of the seats in the institution would be reserved for Odisha students.
Higher Education Minister Badri Naryana Patra said the university would function within two years. It would provide higher learning in engineering, technology, banking and financial services, humanities, social management, law, natural science and vocational education and training and development studies. The university would be a private self-financing institution of higher learning, he added.
