Assembly panel to tour disputed border areas

In a State Assembly House Committee meeting held on Tuesday, the border disputes with Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh were discussed in detail.

Assembly Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro, who presided over the meeting, wanted to know about the border dispute cases pending in the Supreme Court and directed to submit the details in the next meeting.

The committee members submitted a proposal that the Collectors and SPs of the concerned districts should interact at least once with  their counterparts of the neighbouring States. It was decided that the House Committee would tour the Kotia hamlet and other disputed areas.

In the next committee meeting, the Revenue, Law, Home and Panchayati Raj Secretaries would be present personally and inform how the development processes have been expedited in the disputed areas.
