A short Vote-on-Account session of the Odisha legislative Assembly will commence from February 3 and continue till February 13.
The 15th session of the14th Assembly being the first one in the calendar year 2014, the Governor will deliver his annual customary address to the House on the opening day.
According to the notification published by the Assembly Secretariat, Finance Minister Prasanna Acharya will present the Vote-on-Account Budget for the first four months of the 2014-15 financial year on February 7. The Appropriation Bill on the statement of expenditure for the months April-July 2014 will be passed on February 11 after a one-day discussion on February 10.
The House will have two days of discussions on the motion of thanks to the Governor for his address on February 5 and 6.
During the eight sittings, February 12 has been fixed for official business while February 13 is fixed for Private Members' Business.
The short session would be important for the fact that during the period, the House will pass the Odisha lokayukta Bill. Besides, the biennial election to Rajya Sabha for four seats will be conducted on February 7.
