Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi condoled the death of former Governor JB Patnaik on Tuesday.
"Patnaik was a multifaceted personality who had made rich contribution towards literature, culture and in the political firmament spanning several decades," he said in his condolence message. Gogoi said he had a close rapport with Patnaik, who endeared all by his amiable disposition. The Assam Government declared half holiday for all State Government offices and undertakings from 1 pm on the day.
