Victims of the chit fund scams met under the banner of the Arthika Sansthamanankadwara Kshatigrastanka Milita Mancha (ASKMM) here on Sunday and resolved to intensify the ‘Jamakari Gana Satyagraha’ across the State from Palli (village) to Delhi (capital) till they are not given back their hard earned money.
“Those depositors who are unable to afford to the high expenditure of money suit may file claim for their deposited money before the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, by depositing only a marginal stamp duty,” ASKMM convenor Jayanta Das urged the duped investors.
He also stressed on stepping up agitations during the ensuing three-tier panchayat elections as a part of ASKMM’s movement to establish its claim.
“The role of Central and State investigating Agencies like CBI, ED, IT, SEBI, SFIO, Crime Branch Economic Offence Wing(EOW) and State Vigilance is not clear as they are acting as Government tools. They have derailed from the real objective of investigation,” alleged Das.
“There are several flaws for which over 50 lakh families in Odisha are far from getting justice. Thus, a severe socio-economic crisis has occurred. While many have committed suicide, many have gone outside to works as bonded labour,’ he said. While the State Government has announced a corpus fund, no chit fund victim is yet to get his money back. Similarly, evidences have perished with sealing of offices of various companies, rued Das. The ASKMM has chalked out plans to undertake over 40 rallies at several places in the State as well as outside.
The meeting was presided over by Umesh Chandra Nayak.
