Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday caught Ganjam district’s Aska NAC Cashier Dwarikanath Padhi red-handed while demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs 1,800.
Padhi was caught in his room at the NAC Office for accepting the bribe from one Manasi Rani Sahu of Vani Vihar in Aska for releasing a cheque of Rs 18,400 towards her arrear pay and release of a cheque of Rs 6,520 for her survey works under the Urban Slum Household Area (USHA) scheme. His residential house at Vani Vihar Sahi in Aska was also searched. He was arrested and forwarded to court.
