Farmers of the State have now faced problems in getting fertilisers for use in cultivable lands as supply of fertilisers from the IFFCO has been hit due to lack of cooperation from truckers.
The Indian Farmers and Fertilisers Cooperatives ltd (IFFCO), the largest producer of fertiliser in the country, has faced problems in supplying fertilisers for the last seven days as truck owners were on strike.
Even though the strike had been called off, it is alleged that the fertiliser supply has still been hit truck owners at Paradip were yet to cooperate. Besides, the situation has been aggravated due to the IFFCO’s authorised transport contractors are slowing down the transport of fertilisers for unknown reasons.
The IFFCO management has requested the district administration to intervene into the matter and ask truckers to cooperate in supply of fertilisers without any interruption so that farmers can’t suffer further.
