Sambalpur Vigilance officials on Thursday arrested an ASI of Police, Santanu Kumar Behera, of Goudapali Outpost under the Jamankira police station in Sambalpur district while demanding and taking bribe of Rs 2,500 from one Prakash Mirdha of Sargipali village.
Behera demanded the bribe to send a land inquiry report to court in favour of Mirdha. The Vigilance team caught Behera red-handed while he was accepting the bribe in a hotel. He would be forwarded to court and investigation is still on, said Sambalpur Vigilance SP JN Pankaj.
