ASHA, A'wadi workers' plight: BMS threatens stir

Presiding over the Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh’s (BMS) district convention here, unit president Jogeswar Das said that the Anganwadi workers and ASHAs are being subjected to a raw deal in the State.

“While ASHAs are always given hope of their monthly wage increment, it is never fulfilled. Anganwadi workers too are overburdened with several works which are not related with their profession. If the Government does not refrain from such practice, the BMS will take to the streets,” warned Das.

Among others, BMS State working president Devendra Kumar Pattajoshi, Dilip Kumar Das and Niranjan Patra spoke. Pattajoshi declared the newly elected committee members of BMS unit.

While the Assistant labour Commissioner inaugurated the convention, District labour Officer Narendra Raika and State organising secretary Muktikanta Satpathy attended. The convention was a grand success with active participation of members like Chinmaya Palo, Usharani Das, Kalyani Das, Bhanumati Bastarai, Sailendri Sabara, Neha Singh, Nirmala Pradhan and Manoj Sahu. Rama Prasad Panda proposed vote of thanks.
