The part-time instructors of art and sports working in upper primary schools in the State held a street play at the lower PMG here on Wednesday where the teachers were shown hanging due to apathy of the State Government.
Notably, these teachers have been holding a dharna here with several demands since December 4 under the banner of Odisha Kala O Krida Sikshyaka Mahasanga. They alleged that though their representatives have met School and Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra on December 8, but no favourable step has been taken by the Government as yet. They warned of intensifying their stir by assimilating the common masses through street plays to highlight their plight and the slipshod attitude of the Government.
