ARSS contractor allegedly kidnapped

Family members of ARSS company sub-contractor M Ravi Choudhury on Wednesday lodged a complaint at the laxmisagar police station here about the missing of Choudhury. They alleged that he might have been abducted by money extortionists.

According to sub-contractor’s wife Mridula, she had talked to her husband over phone on May 2, but after that he could not be reached. “He left home for his work eight days ago. We don’t have any clue to trace him where he is,” she said. Choudhury’s father-in-law K Rambabu said, “Ravi had very good relations with others in his field. I’m clueless about his missing. As contract works are full of disputes, he might have been abducted by extortionists”. The police have started investigation into the case. “After the investigation, we can tell whether it is an abduction case or not,” said a police officer. Choudhury has been working for the ARSS Company since 2009. Notably, ARSS MD Subash Agarwal, who had been abducted from Bhubaneswar on February 15 night, was rescued by the Andhra Pradesh police from Visakhapatnam the next day.
