Police raided the house of arrested BJP leader and former Mayor of the Brahmapur Municipal Corporation (BMC) Siva Shankar Dash alias Pintu here on Tuesday.
Three police teams led by Brahmapur SDPO Santanu Dash conducted the raid on the houses of Dash at various places, including Salia Bandha and Haladia Padar here simultaneously.
Many movable and immovable properties, including four cars, plots and other land documents were detected in the name of the ex-Mayor during the search. Police said the raids were part of the investigation.
Besides, seven aides of Dash are being interrogated at different police stations.
On the other hand, the remand period of Dash ended on Wednesday.
Notably, the first mayor of the BMC, who was wanted in severalcriminal cases, was arrested by a special team of Brahmapur police in New Delhi on July 7.
