Arrest Ragagada Collector, SP: BJP

A delegation of the BJP led by senior leader Biswabhusan Harichandan met family members of deceased Tikiri UP Schoolteacher Itishree Pradhan after visiting her village Muninda in the Delang area in Puri district on Monday.

The team expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and assured them of all help. Harichandan condemned the hurried manner in which Itishree’s body was cremated.

“Odisha ranks among the top three States of the nation in crimes against women, but the State Government has not taken any concrete step to check the problem,” he said.

During the delegation’s discussion with Itishree’s father Balabhadra Pradhan, he said the State Government failed to protect her daughter in spite of her repeated complaints.

Another delegate, BJP Mahila Morcha president Simantani Jena, demanded that the Government arrest both the Collector and Superintendent of Police of the district for culpability as they had ignored Itishree’s repeated complaints.

Among others, BJP media convener Anil Dhir, Manmath Mallick, Krushna Jagadeb and local leaders went with the delegation.
