Arrest Junagarh BJD candidate: Samruddha

Published on:

The Samruddha Odisha on Saturday demanded that BJD candidate for Junagarh Assembly constituency Captian Dibya Shankar Mishra be arrested and his candidature be scrapped for allegedly carrying Rs 1.49 lakh at a time in contravention with the Election Commission norms. “The BJD candidate for Junagarh seat was carrying Rs 1.94 lakh with him even though the Election Commission stipulates that no candidate or his or her agent cannot carry more than Rs 50,000 at a time. The candidate has also not made it clear that from which source he brought the amount. Hence he should be arrested and his candidature be scrapped soon,” Samruddha Odisha general secretary Prabir Mohant demanded in a Press release. He also alleged that the BJD is trying to buy voters in Junagarh constituency taking advantage of their poverty.
