BJP State ST Morcha president Antarayami Gamango was felicitated at Gandahati in Gajapati district on Friday. The meeting was presided over by BJP Raigada Mandal president Pradip Kumar Dalai.
Chief Guest National vice-president of BJP Krushak Morcha Rama Chandra Panda criticised the State Government for adopting a diversionary tactic in the chit fund scams by appointing a judicial commission of inquiry.
He alleged that both Central and the State Governments have promoted the chit fund companies by providing statutory recognition and glorified their activities through huge publicity measures that were responsible for attracting innocent citizens, particularly from rural areas, to their fraudulent schemes which ultimately duped the investors of their hard earned savings.
He demanded arrest of the politicians and officials who were paid protection money to sustain such fraudulent investment plans. He also demanded disclosure of the names of the beneficiaries of chit fund companies’ tainted money for public scrutiny.
Among others, Gajapati Bar Association president Siddheswar Mishra; former Zilla Parishad member Hemanti Sabar, senior BJP leader Gouranga Gamago, teachers’ association leader Banamali Sabar, BJP State executive body member Saroj Sabat and BJP Youth leader advocate N Rajendra Kumar also spoke.
