Expressing deep concern over the rape and murder of Ashram schoolgirls, the State BJP Mahila Morcha alleged that the headmaster and other teachers are involved in the sudden death of Class-VII student Bigyani Pradhan of the Salia Residential School (Ashram School) under the Banpur police station.
Mahila Morcha president Simantini Jena demanded that school headmaster Bimal Das be arrested immediately and dismissed from his job, since the deceased’s mother had registered a complaint at the Banpur police station that her daughter was first raped and then killed. Das is on leave since December 8.
Besides, Jena also demanded compensation of `5 lakh to the deceased family and stern punishment to the accused teachers involved in murder of the girl.
“The school authority has been trying to suppress the matter by giving the murder a suicidal angle. Besides, police should also arrest the school staff along with all the teachers and conduct a high-level investigation to unearth the real culprits involved in the case,” Jena claimed. The State Mahila Morcha warned that it would stage an agitation if the State Government did not arrest the offenders immediately.
