The District Student Congress has demanded immediate arrest and suspension of Alaka College lecturer Biswajit Ray against whom a Plus Three girl student has levelled molestation charge a week ago.
At a Press conference here on Monday, District Student Congress president Sunil Matia alleged that police are not expediting the case against the lecturer even after the complaint has been registered at the Biridi police station.
Meanwhile, the girl has lodged another complaint that the lecturer has been threatening her to withdraw the case but police are yet to take any step on her allegation. This was stated by district Congress president RN Mohanty.
The Congress leaders alleged that the lecturer is being protected by some BJD leaders and police are afraid of taking any effective step against him. “We will be forced to go on agitation if police continue to protect the accused, cautioned another Congress leader Raj Kishor Behera.
State Student Congress president Itish Pradhan, the Municipality Chairman and former student leader Biplav Choudhury were present at the Press conference.
