After being criticised for its order transferring Cuttack Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sanjeev Arora, the Government on Thursday cancelled the transfer of the 2005-batch IPS officer.
The Government had transferred Arora as the Angul SP.
Keonjhar SP Kavita Jalan, who was to replace Arora, would take over as the Angul SP, the fresh notification stated.
locals of Cuttack and opposition political parties had questioned the motive of the Government, alleging
that the transfer was ordered while Arora was tightening the noose on criminals in the city.
He was credited with arresting the Dhalsamanta brothers and checking crime network in the city.
