A few months after a 71-year-old retired Army doctor was arrested for allegedly killing his wife, the Mahila police on Monday arrested and forwarded to court another Army officer for torturing his wife here.
According to the police, lieutenant Colonel Pradip Kar physically assaulted his wife on Sunday night and threw her away from the house.
On the complaint of the wife, a team of Mahila police station officials raided Pradip’s house and arrested him, sources said. However, the lieutenant Colonel refuted the charges.
