Police busted an arms racket by arresting two persons and in the Jagannath Prasad police station area in Ganjam district on Thursday.
The cops seized two country-made guns and large quantities of ammunition from the possession of the accused duo. The two arrested gunrunners were identified as Ullas Sahu of Chidiapali village and Satrughna Nayak of Ekagharia village.
Reports said a team of police, acting on a tipoff, conducted a raid on the house of Ullas and seized the ammunition. During interrogation, Ullas revealed that he had bought the ammunition from Satrughna.
Based on his revelations, police arrested Satrugna and seized the guns. The police have registered a case under the relevant sections of the Arms Act and forwarded the accused to court.
