Archana Nag, who has been arrested for allegedly honey-trapping and extorting crores of rupees from influential persons, appeared physically in the SDJM) Court here on Wednesday.
A police team consisting of two women IICs brought Archana from the Jharpada jail and produced her in the court in the afternoon.
Earlier, Archana had appeared in court twice through videoconferencing as police cited security reasons for this. But this time, the court asked police to produce her personally.
Speaking to the media before her appearance in the court, Archana said, “I will tell everything at the right time. I will tell everything, but please wait for the right time. Police investigation will reveal everything.”
“But I request media to not spread fake news about me without any proof,” she added before being whisked away by policewomen.
Reports said Archana appeared in the court in connection with a blackmailing case filed against her by Odia film producer Akshay Parija. She had allegedly demanded Rs 3 crore from Parija by threatening him with his obscene videos.
Archana’s crime syndicate came to limelight after Parija had filed a complaint with the Nayapalli police accusing her of blackmailing him and demanding a huge amount. Later, a woman also filed another complaint with the Khandagiri police accusing Archana of trapping her and using her to blackmail Parija.
