As part of the countrywide celebrations of the three-day-long Aradhana Mahotsav, a major devotional event of the country, the Raghavendra Swamy Mutt on Bayababa Mutt Road here is gearing up for a State-level annual religious congregation which would start from August 11.
The holy event would commence with some of the daily special sevas (services and rituals) under the guidance of Vishwesha Tirtha Swami of the Pejawar mutt of Udupi in Karnataka.
A large number of south Indians from the State and neighbouring States would participate in the event.
The temple authorities have also arranged several cultural events for the three day event. On the first day, Srijit Group would perform Sampoorna Narayaniya Parayana in the morning which would be followed by Astothara by devotees and vocal music.
On the second day, FMC Bhajan Mandali of Kolkata would perform Radha Kalyanam in the morning, while lalitha Sahasranama and Geeta Parayana would be performed on the final day morning.
Notably, the Mahotsav is being celebrated in India for the past 342 years as homage to the famous saint Raghabendra Sarvabhouma, the founder of the well-known Pejawar Mutt of Udupi in Karnataka.
