Members of the Anti Reservation Action Committee (ARAC) have appreciated the Modi Government’s decision of lateral entry of a deserving candidate into a Joint Secretary post.
Analysing the decision of the Central Government, the ARAC convenor at an event held here on Tuesday hailed such an independent decision for fresh breeze in governance, which at times felt suffocated with dishonest corrupt officers.
He stated that despite decades of reservation and other civil service traps like extreme loyalties to particular parties and by a sizeable section in State bureaucracy, it has lost the morality or even legality to administer as per rule which are only propelled by the behest of few.
Hence, the bureaucracy in current time needs a fresh import from several other sectors to infuse itself with more dynamism, he added.
ARAC members appreciated bureaucrats like Pradipta Mohapatra, who being the commissioner, has shown his courage to identify the rising number of cases in the Education Department and the resultant remedial measures to minimise it which lateral entry officer may infuse for better governance.
