Being unable to get in touch with their young son who went to Maharashtra in search of work, a tribal couple finally had to knock at the door of the Collector and SP of Sambalpur. They requested the senior duo of the district to bring back their son.

As per information, Jashobanta Mirdha, now around 18 years age, a resident of Pradhanpali-Saharapada of Rengali block, went to Mahahrastra three years back in search of work. A local youth of Jambahal village under Katarbaga police station brought Jashobanta and many other youths of the locality to Maharastra and engaged them in different works. Things were alright initially. Jashobanta was in regular touch with the family over phone.

“But over last six month we are unable speak to our son. The labour contractor is also not giving any information about him. So we are apprehensive,” said Ananda Mirdha to the SP and the Collector during their grievance hearing day in Rengali block. Collector Samarth Verma and SP Sanjiv Arora have assured the Mirdha couple to take necessary steps to bring back their young son.
