Ever since former bureaucrat Aparajita Sarangi plunged to electoral politics, it was known that she would contest from the Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha constituency as was reportedly decided by her BJP high command.
And proving widespread speculations true, she has won the seat defeating her BJD rival former top police officer Arup Mohan Patnaik by a margin over 23,000 votes.
Hardworking Sarangi, who earned a reputation as a pro-people IAS officer during her stints in various departments in the State, was able to get connected with people and was appreciated for her direct approach.
After her victory, Sarangi took to her twitter handle, saying, “I look forward to the new innings as a people’s representative and serve them to the best.” She also told media that she would endeavour to make Bhubaneswar the best constituency with the support of all political parties.
