The residents of Govindpur Mouza under the Kashinagar Tehsil in Gajapati district have expressed resentment over re-construction of roads in the villages by the Andhra Pradesh Government.
The villagers said that in March the Koraput administration team including the then Tehsildar Manoranjan Sahu and the then Paralakhemundi Sub-Collector Ranjan Biswal had stopped the road construction work by the AP Government in the bordering villages of Kotia, Gudikhudi and Madhiakhola.
The administration had also put up a signboard of the Odisha Government at the site after delineation of the boundary but the AP Government has once again resumed the road work, the villagers alleged. Meanwhile, Kashinagar Tehsildar Ayush Mandal on Tuesday and Paralakhemundi Sub-Collector Rajnikant Swain on Wednesday visited the site. Swain said he would examine the map of the area, would take steps accordingly.
