AOP: Fight for mother, motherland, mother tongue

The Aama Odisha Patry (AOP) on Saturday released its manifesto for the coming elections promising an all-round development of the State and to fight for the honour of mother, motherland and mother tongue.

“Women, motherland and mother tongue are not safe in Odisha. While atrocities against women are increasing with each passing day, the person at the helm of Government affairs has no respect for the Odia language and the State,” said AOP president Soumya Ranjan Patnaik releasing the manifesto here.

Accusing the BJD Government of opening liquor shops everywhere to increase its revenue, the AOP promised to rid the State of the menace of liquor so as to create a healthy society.

Describing the loot of land, forest and mines as ‘gangrape’, the party’s manifesto promised to return the money looted by chit fund companies to the depositors and strive for eradication of poverty in the State.

Patnaik said while 70 per cent of the people are depending on agriculture for their livelihood, the Government has neglected them. The AOP would work for the benefit of the farmers, he added.

The party promised to give importance to the education sector so that the youth can compete in the global market. Stating that some vested interest political parties and politicians are spreading casteism to keep their votes bank intact, the AOP promised to be a deterrent to such activities and spread social harmony.
