Due to the indifference of the Government for regularisation of Part Time Guest Instructors (PTGIs) in the Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) of the State, the All Odisha Government ITI Part Time Guest Instructors’ Association (AOGITIPTGIA) demonstrated before the State Secretariat here on Thursday.
Holding placards and banners, around 500 PTGIs then staged a demonstration before the Assembly. They demanded regularisation of services of PTGIs by taking a policy decision at Government level.
They also decided to hold a month-long strike from October 10 to November 16.
For regularisation of job, skilled PTGIs have been fighting since long. But the Government is recruiting unskilled outsiders from outside, ignoring the slogan “Skill India”, they said.
During their hunger strike on July 10, 2014, departmental Minister Sanjaya Dasburma had given assurance for absorption of PTGIs, but not a single step has yet been taken to meet the promise, they pointed out.
The AOGITIPTGIA also submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister.
