The Orissa High Court on Thursday disposed of a petition of Kendrapada BJD MP Anubhav Mohanty without any intervention. Mohanty had sought an expeditious hearing and fixing of a date for final hearing of his petition for divorce from his actress-wife Varsha Priayadarshini.
The divorce petition is currently pending at the Cuttack Family Court. Stating that the conciliation exercises conducted by the Family Judge have failed, Mohanty had approached the HC for a direction to the lower court for a speedy trial of the case. HC Justice BR Sarangi refused to intervene in the trial of the Family Judge, which has made substantial progress in the case during the last six months.
