Anti- Posco leader Abhaya Sahoo, who had been arrested following IOCl land losers stir on April 24 at Paradip, was released from jail on Saturday.
The Kujanga Judicial Magistrate Court granted bail to Sahoo as per a direction of the Odisha High Court. He was released from jail after he fulfilled the bail conditions furnishing Rs 20,000 bail bond and two personal sureties, informed Sahoo lawyer Bichitrananda Sena.
Hundreds of Sahoo supporters led by IOCl land losers’ leaders Chinmaya Sahani, Bipin Moharana and Subash Mohapatra gathered at Samagola Jail near Kujanga and greeted Sahoo soon after he stepped out of the jail. Earlier, two IOCl land losers’ association leaders, including Zilla Parishad member Sarada Jena and Bipin Moharana, had been arrested along with Sahoo in connection with the same IOCl stir The duo was granted bail on May 10 by the Additional District Judge, Jagatsinghpur.
