The CGST and Central Excise, Baleswar Division conducted an anti-plastic rally here recently.
The rally, a part of the Swachhta Pakhwada, included cleaning up roadside areas, spreading of awareness for reduction in use of plastic bags and promotion of distribution of reusable bags.
Over 60 students from Public High School, Zilla School and Police High School along with Rotary Club members joined the rally. The Oripol Industries distributed reusable bags. The rally was welcomed at the Station Chhaka.
Assistant Commissioner CGST Kunal Kumar said, “Plastic ban as a solution is an enforcement lead action. We are conducting such initiatives to motivate the public to reduce their plastic usage. Baleswar should reduce its plastic footprint.”
