Protesting the “anti-people policies” of the Central Government like three farm Acts, Labour Codes and the divisive politics and also against some State Government’s policies, seven political parties in the State led by the Congress staged a dharna at Master Canteen Square here on Thursday.
The parties raised a 17-point charter of demands before both Governments and announced their support to the September 27 Bharat Bandh called by the United Kissan Morcha and appealed to the people of State to make the bandh successful.Addressing the gathering, PCC president Niranjan Patnaik, AICC secretary D Rudra Raju, CPI(M) State secretary Alikishor Patnaik, CPI State secretary Ashish Kanungo, Congress leaders Jangyeswar Bbau, Gnaeswar Behera, Manoranjan Das, Yaseer Nawaj and Sivanada Ray and Left leaders like Santosh Das and Abhay Sahu lambasted the Modi Government for making false promises to the people and the Naveen Patnaik Government also for deceiving people. They also alleged that while the Modi Government has been introducing anti-people policies, the BJD Government in the State blindly support the NDA Government at the Centre on many crucial issues without examining their pros and cons.
