In yet another move to curb the Maoist violence in the Nishikal area of Rayagada district, a massive anti-Maoist operation was carried out by the 4th Battalion CRPF under the leadership of Commandant Balaram Behera for the last four days.
During the operation, two landmines of 20 kg and 15 kg, respectively, and three SBMl guns were recovered.Besides this, according to an official Press note, the unit also carried out free medical checkup camps and some entertainment programmes like audiovisual shows and friendly volley ball tournaments for the local people. This not only won the hearts and minds of the people but also created more confidence among them towards the security forces.
