The Odisha Durniti Sangharsh Manch on Friday thanked Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for advising his MLAs to be humble and simple.
The Sengha contended that people’s problems would be resolved if MLAs and MPs work as per advices given by the Chief Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, respectively. Many of MLAs are gentle, efficient and incorrupt, but there are many who become very arrogant after getting elected to the State Assembly or the Parliament and they accumulate riches during their five years of power.
In a statement, Sangh general secretary Er Jagabandhu Sarangi also urged the Chief Minister to review the performances and incomes of the MLAs at regular intervals.
“A few days back, I met Kakatpur MLA and Minister Dr Tusharkanti Behera and informed him about corruptions taking place in block, tehsil and engineering agencies. I am thankful that he has directed officers to check PC (percentage) practice in offices,” said Sarangi.
He also requested all elected representatives to ensure transparency in their conduct in their constituencies.
